FAQ

What are cloudlets?

A cloudlet is our resource unit: 128 MiB RAM + 400 MHz CPU. Set reserved cloudlets (always allocated, discounted) and a Scaling Limit (burst ceiling, pay-per-use). See autoscaling & cost controls.

How is reserved different from the Scaling Limit?

Reserved cloudlets are your baseline (allocated 24/7 at a discounted hourly rate). Your Scaling Limit sets the burst ceiling. Burst usage is billed only while used above the reserved baseline.

How accurate is the calculator estimate?

The estimate reflects the rates and stack you configure. Actual cost depends on traffic patterns and resource use. Use it as a planning range.

Do I pay for idle time?

You always pay for reserved cloudlets (allocated 24/7). Burst usage up to your Scaling Limit is billed only when you use it. Storage and IPs are billed hourly whether or not the environment is actively serving traffic.

Can I change my topology after deploying?

You can add or remove nodes, change cluster types, and adjust cloudlet limits without redeploying. Some changes, such as switching database replication modes, may need a brief maintenance window.

What is included in the 14-day trial?

Full platform access with no credit card required. You get the same topologies, autoscaling, and support available on paid plans. See trial details.

How does horizontal scaling work?

Add app-server nodes to distribute load. Each node has its own reserved baseline and Scaling Limit. A load balancer (included in multi-node topologies) distributes requests across nodes automatically.

What support is included?

24/7 engineer support is included on all plans. You work directly with engineers, not commissioned sales reps. See our Statement of Support for scope details.

What languages and frameworks are supported?

We support Java (Spring, Tomcat, etc.), Node.js, PHP (Laravel, WordPress), Python (Django, Flask), Ruby (Rails), .NET, Go, and custom Docker containers. Most popular frameworks work out of the box.

How does billing work?

Billing is hourly and usage-based. You pay for your reserved baseline. Burst usage is billed only while used, up to the Scaling Limit you set.

Can I migrate from Heroku/AWS/other providers?

Yes. We support standard deployment methods (Git, Docker), and our support team can help with migration planning. Most apps move over with little or no code change.

Do I need a credit card to start?

No. Start the 14-day trial with an email address. No credit card required.

What support isn't included?

We support the platform and infrastructure: environment setup, deployment help, scaling guidance, and platform issues. We don't debug application code or provide custom development unless you have a separate support agreement. See our Statement of Support for scope details.

How do I set spending limits?

Each environment component has a Scaling Limit that caps resource usage. Use it to cap maximum spend. The calculator shows min/typical/max cost based on those limits.

What happens to charges when I stop an environment?

RAM, CPU, and traffic charges stop. Storage and reserved extras (public IPs, SSL certificates) continue billing. Stop idle dev environments to save compute costs without losing data or configuration.

Can I see cost details and export billing history?

Monitor live usage by resource type, review environment-level cost breakdowns, and export billing history as CSV. Estimates are shown during environment creation based on your reserved limits.

How do I keep costs predictable after launch?

Set reserved cloudlets for your steady baseline, cap each component with a max limit, and review usage alerts in the dashboard. That gives you room for spikes without open-ended spend.
