DNS Failover for Fast Recovery
If a server goes down, DNS sends traffic to a healthy endpoint. We handle the health checks and failover setup.
Traffic reroutes automatically in seconds when a health check detects a server is down.
Low-TTL authoritative records served from multiple points of presence. Failover changes reach most resolvers within minutes.
HTTP, TCP, and ICMP health checks continuously monitor your servers.
Simple flat-rate pricing with free setup for Togglebox-hosted servers.
Features
DNS-based routing
Use CNAME records so DNS changes stay simple. When a health check fails, traffic shifts to a healthy endpoint.
Managed availability
We configure geographic failover across health-checked endpoints and keep an eye on it for you. There is no self-managed setup to build.
Pricing
DNS Failover: $5/Month/server
Setup (Internal Servers): FREE
Setup (External Servers): $100
Common Questions
What does Disaster Recovery include?
Togglebox provides DR planning, not a fully managed DR-as-a-service product. Planning covers backup scope, restore testing, failover strategy, and recovery targets aligned to your workload. You own the DR runbook.
What are RPO and RTO?
RPO (Recovery Point Objective) is the maximum acceptable data loss window -- how far back you can restore from if something goes wrong. RTO (Recovery Time Objective) is the maximum acceptable time to restore service. Define both before a production incident, not during one.
How does DNS failover relate to DR planning?
DNS failover reroutes traffic during outages, while DR planning ensures systems and data can be restored with defined targets.
